Basic IT Courses in Hull - A Briefing Paper (2003)

This briefing paper looks at why computer skills are important for residents of Hull, and what people think of entry-level IT courses. It explains the importance of IT skills to the economy and individuals, and the issues that emerge from literature on IT based learning. It uses data gathered in the pilot year of the Learners’ Forum in Hull to present people’s concerns about the provision of basic IT courses.

The issues raised in this report were tested more comprehensively in Getting IT Right: Views on IT Courses in Hull
