It is with a mixture of sadness and delight that we announce that Isabelle Tracy has left Volcom after 14 years of dedicated and inspiring work to take up the exciting position of Project Director for Roots and Wings, Hull's Creative People and Places project.
Roots and Wings is a ten year programme of cultural transformation by, for and with the people of Hull.
Roots and Wings is a fantastic opportunity – not just for Isabelle, but for all of us in Hull, and we wish Isabelle the very best for the future.
Volcom will continue to share information about the Roots and Wings programme as the project develops and takes shape, including future opportunities for voluntary and community groups to get involved and play your part so watch this space!
As a result of these changes, we are happy to announce that Nicole Steele is stepping into the role of managing Volcom from this week onwards.
You are cordially invited to attend T!ts & Giggles, a comedy night in aid of Hull Rape Crisis and Sexual Abuse Service. The night is to support and promote female talent, as well as raising funds for HRCSAS, a confidential counselling service, run by women for women & girls (14+) who have experienced rape or any form of sexual abuse at some point in their lives.
Registered Charities and Community Groups in Beverley and the surrounding areas are being encouraged to bid for funding to help the elderly this winter. The HEY Smile Foundation, which provides funding and mentoring for small, independent charities, has earmarked £2,000 to help elderly people in the town as the cold weather sets in and grants of up to £250 are available.
The money has been made available thanks to a £20,000 donation from Sargent Electrical Services, of Woodmansey.
Community groups of registered charities can apply for grants by e-mailing
or by calling (01482) 597270.
